I've just been chatting with a valuer lady from Foxtons, Estate Agents.

December was their their best month in the whole of 2005.

She expects things to be "manic" until July, then slow, then pick up

if you're expecting a house price crash, then why (have one, I mean)?

You'll be pleased to hear that I am actually homeless sleeping on
peoples sofas and such like, such is my belief in a house price crash.

Jim.

Does your plan to make money out of a HPC therefore depend not just on a HPC
but not paying rent in the indefinite period before one occurs? Presumably
you arent paying for your internet access either? Not much of a cunning plan
really is it, in spite of having a large stash of money earning interest,
you are shamelessly sponging off your friends, who no doubt *are* in their
own houses struggling to pay their huge mortgages, and who will be
financially seriously damaged, maybe even made homeless, if your prediction
comes right?

They aren't actually related, but as I do believe prices are
overvalued and can sit here and say I have no home then it's good
truthful usenet posturing...

I pay for the ADSL I'm using currently actually...

Just because I pay no rent, doesn't mean I don't pay for services
rendered - I'm actually mostly on the road and in hotels rather than
peoples couches...

>who no doubt *are* in their

Actually, very few people I crash on have large mortgages... so it'd
be okay on that score too

Jim.

Foxtons are renown amongst those who've had dealings with them for
being full of shit.

I think you'll find that they've avoided membership of the usual trade
associations for a reason.

Well she would say that wouldn't she ?

Some people may even be daft enough to believe her ;-)

There is nevertheless one helluva boom going on in Peter Saxton Land at
the moment. We had our house valued by the District Valuer in Nov 2004
at =A3N. Last week a developer offered us =A31.5N. Today Foxtons want to
put it on their books at =A32.25N.

Where's your graph of property prices going out into orbit? You might
need to leave a bit of spare space at the top.

There are rumours that Foxtons belong to a trade association that
