"Egg" website is RUBBISH!! [message #385068] So, 07 Mai 2006 02:38

Anybody here use the UK 'Egg' credit-card?

The website says 'open all hours' but is *always* down, most nights! Always,
most, contradiction in terms! It's just so irritating that you can't check
it when suits you!!

I'm leaving them, bunch of MNBA-owned c**** :-)

But seriously, it's pretty annoying, anybody else notice this?

I left them over 6 months ago, having been given <6 hours notice of a
hike in interest rates, but for a good 12 months prior to that their
site had been completely unresponsive / unusable (I told them several
times that the now-shit online access was the only reason I had kept the
card - the rate hike was just the last straw).

I found if I clicked a link repeatedly the server would finally respond
(you`ll know immediately when it does).

At times i`d find myself clicking "log out" for several minutes,
wondering if anyone would be able to hijack the session if I didn`t wait
until I got the confirmation.

No, I have been using egg for a couple of years, I can only remember once
getting a come back later message. I usually access a couple of times a
day, more often in the daytime, often in the evening, rarely after midnight.

I hadn't realised they were MBNA owned though, I must say that is
discouraging, their rates seem ok.

Egg site works well for me, though have had the odd (once every 2-4
months) outage. However, I don't have the Egg Credit Card...
I think it's only the credit card that is owned by MNBA, so it might be
MNBA's systems that are causing the problems, not Egg's.

It hasn't been 'down' for me since I don't know when. The only time I
haven't been able to to log on was when they were performing maintenance
(which happens at nights).

Never had any problems myself.

I live in Asia, and you're right , the Egg site is often down during
the UK night when I'm trying to access it here. I see this as a minor
inconvenience only, and its usually up again by lunchtime here.

Apart from that, Egg have always seemed quite good to me. I like the
cashback on their Egg Money card, which seems to be the best around at
the moment.

But this is when he wants it... and if it says it's open all hours...
