UK.Finance bods....
I thought I'd let you know that because of the recent changes in the
2006 budget, which impacts upon all ongoing IHT planning, I created the
following toolkit at:
http://www.invidion.co.uk/iht_periodic_charge_calculator.php
This allows calculations to be made for existing trusts, either on an
anniversary charge basis, or pre and post ten-year exit charge basis,
but it it also allows people to project forward IHT Thresholds and
Trust property values in order to run 'what-if' scenarios.
I don't normally 'spam' newsgroups, but because I often contribute to
this group, I thought that this one is very timely, and useful for IFAs
and Trustees / potential Trustees.
P.S. I think it is going to take some time for most people to truly get
their heads round the implications of these changes. Some of the stuff
I read in the financial press has left a bit to be desired (i.e. too
simplistic), and when I have queried some of the stuff that a couple of
the technical support teams from the life offices have been putting out
(in relation to pre year ten exit charges), they have quickly
backtracked and are updating their guidance.
P.P.S. Big thanks to John Boyle who answered my previous questions on
this topic....
If anyone can see any flaws on this, please let me know......
Rgds
Neil.

OK, Troy Smartarse
I think you'll find that I do ACTUALLY contribute to this group and
don't bombard it with spam.
So, fuck off...

P.S. ...
Troy, I think that you will find that this sort of calculator will only
be of interest to a very narrow section of people anyway (mainly those
involved in financial services, and too smart people already thinking
of IHT planning.)
Prove that I am a 'spammer'. Or shut up.

No way. It wouldn't even occur to spammers to think of themselves as
spammers let alone mention the word in a post. They generally have no
empathy, no consideration and will address you as their bestest friend
in the whole world - which you probably are.....

This is not spam, you've put together an interesting and useful site,
even though I don't understand half of it as, luckily, I don't need to
!
