My husband and I are moving into 3d gaming, and have bought a ps2 so we
can get a feel for the genre. We're wanting to claim this as a business
expense, but we play the games for fun too. Can anyone tell me how I
can find out what percentage of these items we can put down as biz
expenses?

For the vast majority of people such expenditure can never be a
business expense. If you *genuinely* need the ps2 for business
purposes, and you one day make profits in a trade involving the ps2 and
its ilk, then as much business use as it gets is allowable against
those profits. Calculate business usage using common sense.

Should you claim Capital Allowances on such a cheap piece of kit? To be
on the safe side, you probably do. By the time you've disallowed the
private proportion, you may find it is more risk and more aggravation
than it is worth.
