Just a heads up that we have today launched a new newsgroup: UK Taxes
This is intended to focus specifically on issues related to UK
Taxation.
Please do feel free to join and to post.
The group can be found at:
http://groups.google.com/group/uk-taxes
Thank you.

Erm, It's not a newsgroup is it?
It's a web based forum with rules created by, and controlled by
entities that may/may not have users interests as a first priority.

In actual fact it's just a Google Group, so the apparent paranoia is
unnecessary.
Try browsing the newsgroups through Google's interface.

He does have a point.
If it was an unmoderated newsgroup then no-one would be in charge, such
as the UK Finance group. Your group is a Google Group, which is
administered by yourselves, and you are free for instance to decide who
can join, who can post, whether posts get deleted etc.
It's not a big issue, but it specifically isn't a newsgroup, there is a
big difference.
