There are reports www.silicon.com that an on-line retailer has had a
serious security breach.
Several thousand cards have been compromised and these cards are now
blocked with new numbers and PINs being issued.
Goldfish has told me that it is in excess of 4 000.
It seems strange that:
a) it only seems to be Mastercard
b) only a few card issuers are affected.
Does anyone know who the retailer is and why so selective?

It says MC and VISA in the report (when I read it) - the way the report is
written it sounds as tho they have put MC with more emphasis because they
have figures and quotes, where as VISA did not give much away.

A new report may have been added as one of them does seem to focus only on
MC, but a newer one includes both.
