| Childcare vouchers, tax credits Separated married couple [message #384986] |

Hi there,
I've just been offered a salary sacrifice scheme with my employer and I
wanted to subscribe to a =A3240 monthly payment in Childcare vouchers
going to my son's nursery. This will result in a =A3167 net salary
reduction per month, hence I'm almost saving =A370 per month.
However, I'm separated, but married, and my wife has set up a direct
debit with the nursery. I pay =A3270 + extras each month towards her for
child maintenance, and she will use this to pay part of the nursery
with this money (=A3210). She also receives tax credit.
If I start payment with childcare vouchers, how will this affect my
wife's tax credit, if at all? She is a student, but are also working
regularly weekly. The nursery cost per month is =A3670.
I've been on the http://www.hmrc.gov.uk site but it's quite confusing.
Any help appreciated!
Regards,
Ron
