Another Pension question - ? a sign of an aging population?
I am a female approaching my 60th birthday - later this month.
I am currently in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance - Contribution Based
and will be entitled to a full State Pension.
My question is - am I entitled to continue to sign on and claim JSA at
the same time as I am in receipt of the State Pension?
My feeling is that there should be no entitlement to two state benefits
at the same time (excluding those that are means tested).
I asked my local DWP but they did not know the answer and
didn't/couldn't be bothered to research it.
I have read all of the DWP leaflets that I can find but have not found
any section which specifically excludes claiming both at the same time.
Nor can I find any reference to this in any of the Government websites.
Nor can I see anything in the legal sites I can find - but I am no
expert in searching the internet.
I do not want to claim anything I am not entitled to - but would wish
to claim all that I am legally entitled to.
Thanks for any assistance.
