Debit card authorisation [message #396031] Di, 06 Juni 2006 17:59

Hello,

One of my accounts had cleared funds of around =A355 available, I filled
the car up with diesel (around =A352 this time) and tried to buy a map
for =A39 at the same time. The transaction was declined of course.

Now, although the =A361 transaction was not completed on this account
there is an amount of =A361 showing as a pending transaction. The
transaction isn't going to take place as the bill was paid from a
different account.

Does this sound right? Does an unsuccessful debit card authorisation
"ring-fence" the funds? If so, how long for?

Will that =A355 become available again automatically?

Steve

yes, in a few days or straight away if you tell your bank.
