Close to Bankruptcy

I was never one for managing money, and now I have over $50,000 in
credit card debt plus student loans and car payments. I have been on
several message boards looking for advice and have talked to credit
counseling companies. My friend sent me info about a new financial
makeover show. I called them and they seemed really helpful, but
there's one catch. You have to live in South Florida, and I don't.
But if there are any Floridians out there that want to give it a try,
here is the info they sent me:

Unfortunately, there really are few options for dealing with debt. One
option is to start spending a lot less and saving a lot more, another
option is to try to renegotiate the debt/terms (possibly through
bankruptcy), and a last option is to increase your income (via
investments or earnings). A credit company really isn't going to do
more than that -- unless they are going to give you a cash prize. You
might try to do the options listed above, by creating a realistic
budget and sticking to it. If you need help sticking to it (i.e., you
need to be held accountable by someone about your spending), you might
enlist the help of a loved one or a pastor.

Best of luck,
