SRI funds for TRowePrice & Fidelity

SRI funds for TRowePrice & Fidelity

I have some mutual funds through T.Rowe Price and some 401k in
Fidelity. Some friends told me about SRI (socially responsible
investing), and so i decided to move my money to funds whose companies
i support. Unfortunately i can't find -any- information about SRI on
either of these two companies' websites (i have emailed them and am
waiting for a response). I can run specific investments through
specific kinds of filters.. (ie. alcohol, tobacco, weapons, labor
issues, etc.) but it's really tedious to run each fund through every
filter... I wish i could just get a ranking of the really bad funds and
the really good ones. Is this possible?

Perhaps i need to drop fidelity and TRowePrice completely and go with
one of these two companies "Domini" or "Calvert" ?

This should provide a start (performance comparison of most SRI funds):

Vanguard sponsors a Calvert fund:

Fidelity and T. Rowe Price do not have SRI funds under their own brands.

The NYTimes had an article today talking about Paul Hawken's critique of
SRI funds.

His site has a somewhat longer list of SRI funds (164 in all for the
U.S.; he also lists Canadian funds) that you can sort on performance.

While both sites provide information on the particular screens used by
the funds, Paul's site allows you to filter the whole set of funds by
the screens you are interested in.

I read on Yahoo Finance that SRI Funds invest in 90% of the S&P 500
stocks. So the S&P 500 index is 90% SRI if that satisfies you :)
