20 people that take Viagra had permanent sight damage. 23,000,000 people use
the drug. It can't be proven that these 20 people wouldn't have had sight
damage if they were not taking Viagra.
Pfizer is down 2.11% at the moment on this news. Pfizer has a market cap of
about $215 billion. The stock lost about $4.5 billion in market cap today on
this news. Is this a buying opportunity or is the reaction justified?

It's not proven yet. I wouldn't say that it can't be proven. Maybe
more people will suffer the same problem. In that case who knows.

Personally I don't think a 2% move one way or the other will change my
opinion of the stock (not buying now).

As a Pfizer shareholder it would be great if the problem were as simple as
that. All the company would have to do is write "playing with yourself
increases the risk of blindness" on the bottle.

They already supply a warning not to take Viagra if you have existing
heart problems severe enough to make it dangerous to have sex. It's not
clear if it's the Viagra or strenuous sex that can cause heart attacks
in patients with existing heart conditions.

I once read an article on how human volunteers tested Viagra before it
was put on the market. It was unintentionally funny.
