Scientists deny galaxies moving apart in space. They say space is
expanding, not galaxies moving apart. But in the same gasp they say
that your frame of reference is OK. So why is the frame of reference
where galaxies move apart is not OK. I'll tell you why. Because
expanding space is an aether. Relative to the aether there is absolute
motion. This is the only thing that can give the galaxies absolute
rest, and space absolute fast expansion. Prove me wrong eh!

Stick the galaxies up your ass. This is a mutual fund newsgroup you
cross-posting moron.
Before you leave, could you explain one thing?

You said:
"So why is the frame of reference

Is that English? What does it mean?
Forget it, I'm asking a moron.

Maybe she's from a parallel universe where humans
evolved from snakes instead of monkeys, and she meant
to post this to rec.food.mice. YOU DIDN'T CONSIDER
THAT POSSIBILITY, NOW DID YOU, "Ed," if that IS your

DAMN! I am SO tired of people mixing up I.E. and E.G, or -- worse yet
-- using them interchangeably.

Pay attention now, people.

I.E. = id est, Latin for "that is"

E.G. = exempli georgia, Latin for "and others like that"

So the parenthetical element of oTTo's otherwise correct answer reads
"that is, Nestcape, ect." That's ridiculous, as it infers that there
is only one browser -- Netscape -- when actually there are two.

Apparently, Gray wanted to be perceived as a modest man of humble
beginnings, wise though without the benefit of higher education.

Turns out he holds a PhD in abnormal psych from Auburn or some other
Ivy League school.

and at 90 atm, I think I'd be quite squooshed anyway.
obviously sarcasm that fell flat- and yeah, at 890F there wouldn't be
much left, but that's the approx temp on that lovely planet.

Did I miss the smiley? ;-).

IE is Internet Explorer.

Misuse of Latin is now so chronic it's almost not worth complaining
about (like the misuse of the apostrophe eg its' v. it's ;-).
