Rental incomes in Barbados

Hi all,
I'm going to Barbados to look for an apartment for sale in some luxury
community resort. I'd like to rent it when I'm not there.
Is there anybody who's doing or done that? Do luxury apartments
(200-400 US$ per night)rent well all the year? What problems did you
have? Thanks for your answer! Steve.

Renting is only good for a few months out of the year, the 'tourism
season'. Barbados is tourism driven, so there is a lot of competition
for what you are doing. Also a few builders are putting up cheap
rental properties all over. Stay away from a place called 'The Farm'.

Good question, let us know what you find. I've always thought that
this seems like a nice place to invest and retire.

Barbados is beautiful. I just finished a house there. I have some
land if you are looking for any. Barbados is the jewel of the
Caribbean. Not a lot of tourists know about it, except the British
mostly.
They take the dollar and everything is negotiable. It's a much
different pace though. Don't expect anything done quickly or on time.
I can recommend good areas, and construction companies if you are
interested.

Thanks for answering.
So you think that an one-bedroom apartment(325.000 US$) in a luxury
resort with various amenities (like Sugar Hill Tennis Village in St
James) wouldn't rent easy at 300/350 US$ per night in the high season?
If you don't, what would you invest in?
