weird market today

Howdy sportsfans,

Geez, I watch Rita turn out much more tame than expected - and energy
futures dropped like a rock, the $ rose, gold and pms dropped, and the
indices all looked very strong.

Now it's after lunch and while the markets are still in the green,
energy and services and expecially gold and pm's are rocking. Supposed
the rise in gold and the pms is due to inflation fears.
Gold's up 2.20 to 465 and XAU is up over 3 to 112.49 (happens to be
resistance).

And this is why the metals are looking so bullish - they've been going
up when they should and also going up when they shouldn't.

I do know that this has been a wonderful summer. I've got about 40-50%
spread between pm's, natural resources and commodities with a bit of
eastern europe and japan thrown in for shrieks. Whatever . . . it's
been working.

just some ramblings,

rono

Hi Rono,

glad to see you here. foreign ETF's are doing good. EEM, EWC, EWJ, ILF,
EWY. no action at home, take a trip.

Howdy,

Yeppers, I own some EWJ which is my only ETF right now. However, I've
been all over foreign commodity stocks and winning. RIO (brazil iron),
FDG (canadian coke), PKX (korean steel), BHP (australian everything
under the sun). Frankly, this has been a great summer. Sh*t, even
today that started out nasty, turned around and was huge. Precious
metals have diverged big time and that's so bullish I can't stand it.
Hell, they're up when they should be up and they're up when they should
be down.

However, lots and lots of natural resources in one way or another.

best,

rono
