where can i get closing bond prices online? preferably from a free

Remember that many (most?) bond are thinly traded, so "closing price"
may mean a price from several days or even weeks ago. Having said
that, try looking at:


In the center, near the top, you'll see "Bond Markets & Prices".
Select you market and go. For instance, if I go to the Corporates
page, and enter CUSIP 41013MMM9, I see trade data for Hancock, John
Life 4.5% 4/15/2013 - last price listed was 11/, then 11/22
@94.277; the next previous listing was 11/02 - three weeks earlier.

The site will also give you prices of the most actively traded bonds,
so you don't have to go searching for particular bonds if what you are
interested in is a general sense of the market.
