How do I put my house on MLS?

How do I put my house on MLS?

am 13.12.2005 20:08:56 von AspiringBroker

I am NOT a broker. I don't want to pay big bucks to brokers to put it
on MLS. Can I do it on my own?

Thanks.

No. The MLS is for brokers only.
Some brokers, for a fee, will put
your house on the MLS but there
has to be a listing under special
conditions. No many will do this.
They are responsible for their MLS
listings to other brokers.

List it for some ridiculous price so that it'll never sell. If
there's no sale, then there's no commission, & no cost to you.

If I was a broker, I would I go about putting it on MLS? Go to
Realtor.com?

You would pay a fee to your local MLS ($350-500/year) and you would have
access to their website and would be able to post. You'd have to be a
realtor first, since the MLS systems are run by & for realtors - they're
private systems. If you're only selling your own house just pay a
discount broker the couple of hundred to list you.

Alos, the seller keeps the property. Depending on the market the seller is
in, sometimes you can get more offers which maximizes the price if you pay
commissions.
