David,
If you are using Excel, do "save as"->"space delimited text" and then post
the resulting file.
Also, are you planning to do weekly report? I was doing that for a while
because of sharpe ratio thing, but it turned out to be too much work. If
you are not doing risk-adjusted ranking, monthly report is probably good
enough.

I don't seem to have "space delimited text" in Excel 2003 but I did save it

Are you sure? I don't have Excel2003, but it would be purty dumb not to
have "formatted text (space delimited)" as a save option.

Your article was not encoded as html. I'd guess that you did not set the
HTML option on send. On my outlook express, it is
tools->options->send->news sending format->html. Alternatively, you could
just attach the saved web page file to your article. (Do Insert->File
Attachment)
