I once raised hell with a factory rep when inkjets came out - the
consumable aspect of refilling a resevoir, and why specific models
seemed deigned to thwart otherwise a cost efficient aspect. The rep
replied with - whatever the market will bear. Same thing with
Malaysian interests prohibiting kit-exports undermining their own
industries. Days of a $2000 affordable socialist car were killed with
Nader on the Volkswagen. That car was touted for having nothing
assembled on it that one man couldn't dissassemble.
