Anything cheap?

Anything cheap?

Looking at the various markets (US domestic - small and large, foreign,
emerging, REIT, metals) everything looks expensive. I was hoping the
Nikkei would fall more so it be a more attractive investment... but it
jumped right back up. So what are you guys putting your 401k money into
currently? I've allocated a greater % to bonds and emerging markets
albeit unenthusiastically.

Howdy,

Well, a lot of the folks that I've seen interviewed on the biz shows
(talking heads, what) are still saying that asia and the emerging mkts
are cheap in relative terms.

I'm overweight natural resources, particulary precious metals, ores and
energy service; emerging mkts particularly eastern europe, asia and
india and asia proper in the form of japan and korea and pan-asian, all
of which are an indirect play on china.

For asides, I still like small caps with bridgeway BRSIX and BRAIX and
I'm a bit into tech via Matthews Asian Tech MATFX.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it . . . or . . . the trend is your
friend.

peace,

rono

Future contributions are going 33% into international, 15% into company
stock, 52% into cash.

Cheap is relative value. Something is always cheap wherever a market
is unbalanced and inefficient.

American Century Heritage Fund invests in companies with earnings and
revenues that are growing at an accelerating pace. It normally invests
in companies that are medium-sized or smaller at the time of purchase,
although it may purchase companies of any size.

Neuberger Berman Partners Fund seeks capital growth mainly in common
stocks of mid- to large-capitalization companies. Management screens
for a variety of characteristics in a company, including a strong
market position relative to competitors, a high level of stock
ownership among management, and a recent sharp decline in stock price
that appears to be the result of a short-term market overreaction to
negative news.

I hope your company stock works out better for you than Enron did. Are you
investing in your company stock because you've objectively evaluated your
company's business plan and think it's a good one, or out of some kind of
employee loyalty?
