MIMF2006 Trade
am 13.02.2006 18:33:13 von kaspakhine
For my timing portfolio,
At today's market close,
Exchange all UOPIX to USPIX.
I will update my portfolio when it executes.
This looks like a classic whip-saw to me and I may get burnt, but
this contest is about testing strategies and I am following signals of
the system I want to test. The draw-down is too much for my comfort
though :-(

Yes. I think you will.
>>I am following signals of the system I want to test.
Pls describe the system. Are you using any trading software?

I don't use any trading software. You may hear the details
if it actually works :-). It is kind of slow, to minimize trades
(1-3 months between trades) as I can't attend to the contest
that often.

No worries. I'll be interested to know what did not work also if you
don't mind.

You might want to check what has worked in last few days for UOPIX. You
can go down "thread".
I don't think Salil's objective was minimizing trades. I think it was
maximizing profit.

Yeah, I lurk on that board, but don't have time for that kind of
fast trading... can't find time from my regular job!

I think fundvision is a waste of time but I'm sure others enjoy it.

Yes. If you're willing to trade fast using TA you'll like it. Not for
folks who do it part time!

I think on Fundvision you get to see trades in real time. For example
you can see I & others bought PMPIX yesterday. We don't know if it is
"good" trade or not still. I don't agree you ALWAYS hear about good
trade. I think you hear about REAL trades & what TA reason is there.
It is "good" or not is decided by market.

And whether a board is good or not is decided by reader.
FundVision is not for me.

You are entitled to yout opinion. But reason you gave earlier is not
accurate.

Answer these if you can, if you can't then so much for your real time
theory:
1. What is Salil's total return year to date.
2. How many trades did Vintage Freak make this month?
3. How many were profitable?
4. How many weren't?
5. Can you generate a complete list of Joe's trades for February?
6. How many of Salil's round trips were profitable in January?

I'm not out to audit results of fellow posters & I'm not going to argue
with you. You're entitled to your opinion. This will be my last
response to you in this "thread".
I do not know how many trades you made in Feb. How many were successful
how many were not! But I'm not interested in it. What I want to know
is what has worked for you & what has not worked, if you don't mind
sharing. If I get that info it's sufficient for me.
BTW what I can know, & anybody can veify looking at date time of posts
is Salil's UOPIX trades were accurate last 2 times. If gains made so
far by Nasdaq 100 are any indication his trade will be accurate 3rd
time in a row. This is what I'm discussing with Kaspa regarding UOPIX.
What has worked & what is working.

Not looking to argue, just pointing out that the information available is
not real time or of much value.
We can agree to disagree. If I were looking for meaningful advice or
suggestions I think that being able to answer the questions I posted would
be important. It's too easy for someone to present themself as wildly
successful when, in fact, they are not. Excersice caution.

As I thought, got a nice whip! Let's see what happens over the next
month or so.

I'm trying to figure out what you do and why you didn't buy SPPIX on monday.
the 6th.
You bought PMPIX yesterday and sold it today. Small profit. What made you
think that gold would go up today?

>>I'm trying to figure out what you do
I try to make money by trading. & I try to avoid losses.
>>You bought PMPIX yesterday and sold it today. Small profit.
A profit is a profit is a profit. Small or big, I don't mind.
>>What made you think that gold would go up today?
I thought Miners would go up today because they were oversold. Chart
of PMPIX & posts on Fundvision made clear PMPIX was oversold.
I took the trade.

Me too.
